Roger F. Olson

Roger F. Olson, 91, Pulaski, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2015, with his family at his side. The son of Ervin and Selma (Leder) Olson was born on March 8, 1924, in the town of Maple Grove.

Roger proudly served his country as a tech sergeant in the U.S. Army from 1945-1947 during World War II, when he was stationed in the Philippines and Japan. On June 18, 1949, he married Hertha Busch at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bonduel. He ran W.B. Schroeder Farm for many years and also worked for Wilke Construction in Krakow. Roger also worked various odd jobs until his retirement.

He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Pulaski, and American Legion Post 217, Bonduel. He enjoyed gardening, fishing and playing cards.

Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Hertha; one son, Gary (Joyce) Olson, Sobieski; two daughters, Jane (Kevin) Watermolen, Bonduel, and Nancy Specht, Pulaski; four grandchildren, Garry (Jenny) Olson, Jason (Jamie) Specht, William Specht and Shannon (Heather) Beyersdorf, all of Pulaski; five great-grandchildren, Dylan, Kyle and Madelyn Olson, and Mackenzie and Mitchell Specht; one sister, Ellen Mangan; four sisters-in-law, Charlotte Olson, Beatrice Olson, Lydia Busch and Violet Busch; nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Patsy Olson; a son-in-law, Jerald Specht; five brothers, Orville, Reed, Harley, Harvey and Oliver Olson; and two sisters: Sharon Meyers and Joyce McKeough.

Friends may call at St. John Lutheran Church, 910 S. St. Augustine St., Pulaski, from 9-11 a.m. Saturday. The funeral service will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, with Pastor Larry Yaw officiating. Burial with military honors by the Bonduel American Legion will follow in Elm Grove Cemetery, Laney.

A memorial fund has been established.

The family extends a special thank you the staffs of Unity Hospice and Sun Valley (formerly Woodhaven) for their compassionate care, as well as to Madeline Smith and Marian Schmitz for all of their care and support.

Marcella F. “Sally” Palmer, 90, of Shawano, passed away peacefully on Friday, Oct. 2, 2015, at her home, joining her heavenly family.

A memorial service for Sally Palmer will be held on Saturday, Oct. 24, 2015, at 11 a.m. at Peace United Church of Christ in Shawano. Visitation will take place from 9 a.m. until the hour of service. Inurnment will follow at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Shawano.

Jerry B. Shawano

Jerry Bernard “Chquawehtam” “Yamahoppy” Shawano, 64, of Neopit, passed away on Oct. 21, 2015, at his home.

Jerry was born in Keshena on July 14, 1951, to the late Harry and Lavina (Nahwahquaw) Shawano. Jerry attended Shawano High School and went on to become a plumber, eventually attaining his master plumber license. On Aug. 5, 1994, he was united in marriage to Bernice Kapishkowit.

In his younger years, Jerry enjoyed hunting, fishing, and being outdoors. He loved to have fun and make people laugh. He was always there to lend a hand when someone needed it. Jerry enjoyed going to the casino, but most of all loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Bernice; his children, Twila (Beasto) Shawano and Kemawin (Robert) Dess, Jerry Nahwahquaw and Marquise LaMotte; Bernice’s children, Valerie (Mark) Self, Muriel Waupoose, Rosemary (Shannon) Tucker, Leon (Sonja), George and Mary Nahwahquaw, Denise (Christopher) Black, Leighton (Trisha), Leland and Lisa (Christian) LaMotte; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; as well as his brothers and sisters, Alberta Hatmaker, Quentin Shawano, Gwendolyn Hawpetoss, Gary “Jaymo” Shawano, Verna (Dan) Reiter, Linette Shawano, Jerilyn “Bedo” (Manzi) Waupoose and Tina Shawano.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Laurie and Doreen, and one brother, Francis.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, 2015, at Menominee Orthodox Presbyterian Church in Zoar with the Rev. Gordon Oliver officiating. Inurnment will be in the Neopit Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church on Friday, Oct. 23, 2015, from noon until the time of the service on Saturday.

Lowell C. Luebke

Lowell “Blackie” C. Luebke, 91, of De Pere, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Oct. 22, 2015, at Good Shepherd Nursing Home. He was born March 13, 1924, son of the late Carl and Louise (Kirchner) Luebke. On Sept. 25, 1946, he was united in marriage to Lorraine Mastey at Assumption B.V.M. Church in Pulaski.

Lowell owned and operated a farm in Laney for many years. He served as town clerk for the town of Maple Grove, deputy building inspector for Shawano County, served on the drainage board and ASC Department of Agriculture. He enjoyed helping people. He moved to Seymour in 1983 and later moved to De Pere in 2001. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Community Church in De Pere.

He is survived by his wife, Lorraine; daughter, Cheryl (Ed) Phillips, De Pere; two sons: Robert (Linda) Luebke, Oconto Falls, and Gary (Kathy) Luebke, Pulaski; grandchildren, great-grandchildren and stepgrandchildren; one sister, June Boettcher, Seymour.

Lowell was preceded in death by his son, Jim; one brother, Wesley; and a brother-in-law, Norman Boettcher.

Friends may call at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 4805 Sportsman Drive, De Pere, on Monday, Oct. 26, 2015, at 9 a.m. until the funeral Mass at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Judah Pigon, M.F., officiating.

Kay E. Riemer

Kay E. Riemer, 48, of Shawano, passed away Thursday, Oct. 22, 2015, at her home.

Kay Ellen Riemer was born May 24, 1967, in Clintonville to Dawn (Fraedrich) Riemer and the late Donald Riemer. She graduated from Marion High School in 1986 and was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, town of Pella, Shawano County. Kay worked at Lakeland Industries in Shawano doing various tasks and helping out those in need. She enjoyed doing many different activities like bowling and going out to eat. One of her biggest joys was attending Camp Daniel in Athelstane; she would always look forward to going. She loved having her fingernails painted and enjoyed watching Packers football. Kay loved her family and she will never be forgotten.

She is survived by her mother, Dawn Riemer, Marion; sister, Lori (Jim) Catlin, Comstock; brother, Alan (Marti) Riemer, Marion; nieces, Kelly Catlin, Harmony Riemer and Melody Riemer; nephew, Casey Catlin.

Kay was preceded in death by her father, Donald Riemer.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 26, 2015, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, town of Pella with the Rev. Timothy Lofgren officiating. Friends may call at the Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home & Crematory in Marion from 3-6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 25, 2015, and at the church on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment will take place at Bethlehem Lutheran Cemetery, town of Pella.

Lawrence H. Ebert

Lawrence H. Ebert, 84, died Sunday, Oct. 25, 2015, at Eastview Medical and Rehabilitation Center in Antigo.

Lawrence was born on Sept. 7, 1931, in the town of Larabee, Waupaca County, son of the late Herman and Alma (Schoneck) Ebert. He was baptized on Sept. 27, 1931, and confirmed on March 25, 1945. On May 1, 1971, he was united in marriage to Jackie Hoffmann at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Marshfield. Lawrence farmed with his dad, worked at FWD in Clintonville and Allis Chalmers in Appleton, and retired in 1993 after 25 years of service from 4-Way Express in Appleton. The couple retired and moved to Post Lake, Elcho, in 1993.

Lawrence was an avid bowler, snowmobiler, worked on race cars for the Buettner Brothers race team, and enjoyed deer hunting and fishing. He served on the Waupaca County Snowmobile Association. Lawrence loved polka dancing, and was a singer who provided music for many weddings. He and Jackie, along with their families, cooked pigs for many functions in Clintonville, Shawano, Wausau, Menasha, Green Bay and Post Lake for many years. In retirement, he installed wood paneling and finished the basement in the house, hand-routered many signs, and played pool and horseshoes for Sunset View Resort.

Survivors include his wife, Jackie Ebert, of Elcho; brother-in-law, Kenneth Buchberger, of Clintonville; three nieces, Denise and Brenda Buchberger, and Heather Wearing, all of Clintonville; two nephews, Jamie (Coni) Huntington, of Chippewa Falls, and John (Danielle) Huntington, of Wausau; three grandnieces, Hailey, Natalie and Madeline Huntington; and two sisters-in-law, Jane (Harry) Huntington, of Wausau, and Joan (Mike) Wearing, of Clintonville.

He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Jean (nee Suehring) Ebert; sister, June Buchberger; and niece, Holly Wearing.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Luke Lutheran Church in Elcho with the Rev. Jerome Hahn officiating. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home and 9:30-11 a.m. Thursday at the church. Interment will take place at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Martin Cemetery in Clintonville.

A memorial will be established in Lawrence’s name.

Warren R. Graf

Warren R. Graf, 62, of West Bend, was called home to be with his Lord on Sunday, Oct. 25, 2015, at his home surrounded by loved ones, after he battled cancer. He was born on June 19, 1953, to Ronald and Norma (nee Kallies) Graf in Bonduel.

Warren grew up in Bonduel, attended St. Paul’s Lutheran Elementary School and graduated from Bonduel High School, Class of 1971. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in music education from Concordia University in Seward, Nebraska. Later he received a director of Christian education certificate from Concordia. On June 1, 1974, he was united in marriage to Debra Schulz at Christ Lutheran in Phoenix, Arizona.

Warren taught music at Lutheran High East and also taught eighth grade at East Bethlehem in Detroit, Michigan. For two years, he was the director of Joy Inc., a contemporary Christian music group that traveled the United States. He was a youth director at St. James Lutheran Church in Marion, Indiana, and a music director at Trinity Lutheran in Elkhart, Indiana. Before moving to West Bend, Warren drove coach buses and delivered mobile homes. He was the minister of music at St. John’s Lutheran Church in West Bend.

Warren had an amazing ability to walk into a crowd of people and instantly make new friends. His lighthearted humor and laid-back personality were enjoyed by all. Warren was an avid Packers fan, enjoyed boating on Shawano Lake with family and friends, and loved to travel, especially to Ireland. He took other family trips to Israel, Egypt, Germany, England, France, Scotland and Mexico. His love of his Lord Jesus Christ and his gift of music have left a lasting legacy that impacted all who knew him. His purpose in life was inspired by a meaningful song, “May All Who Come Behind Us Find Us Faithful.”

Those Warren leaves behind to cherish his memory include his wife of 41 years, Deb; mother, Norma Graf; two children, Jonathan (Michelle) Graf, of St. Louis, Missouri, and Gabrielle (Rob) Steinbrenner, of Milwaukee; three grandchildren, Bennett Graf, Taylor and Cody Steinbrenner; sister, Carol (Timothy) Marsh, of Green Bay; brother, Keith Graf, of Bonduel; godmother, Arlene Schwandt, of Orland Park, Illinois; many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, Oct. 29, from 4-7 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 809 S. Sixth Ave., West Bend. A visitation will also be on Friday, Oct. 30, at St. John’s Lutheran Church from 10 a.m. until noon. A funeral service celebrating Warren’s life will be at noon. On Saturday, Oct. 31, a visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until noon at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 240 E. Green Bay St., Bonduel. Funeral service will be at noon. Burial will be at St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery following the service.

Memorials to St. John’s Organ Fund in Warren’s name, in lieu of flowers, are appreciated by the family.

A heartfelt thank you to St. John’s Lutheran Church and Heartland Hospice for all their support, help and care.

Earl J. Gruel

Earl Gruel, 87, of Bonduel, passed away on Friday evening, Oct. 23, 2015, at Meadow View Estates in Bonduel.

Earl was born in the town of Hartland on Oct. 4, 1928, to the late Otto and Anna (Ziebarth) Gruel. Earl grew up on and later farmed the family farm in the town of Hartland. In 1975, Earl married Jerolene (nee Ponton) Commons; she preceded him in death on Oct. 5, 2001. Earl was a lifelong member of Zion United Methodist Church in Bonduel where he served on the cemetery committee.

Earl is survived by three stepsons, Ray (Jean) Commons, of Weston, Ernest (Laurie) Commons, of Port Washington, and Clark (Annette) Commons, of Bonduel; six stepgrandchildren; five great-stepgrandchildren; a sister-in-law, Phyllis Gruel; nieces and nephews, Vernon (Geraldine) Pitt, Keith Pitt, Connie (Peter) Martineau, Kathy (Steve) Hughes, Linda (Bill) Biese, Barb (Todd) Maves, Mari (David) Kriescher, David (Noreen) Gruel, Rick (Joan) Gruel and Jim Gruel; as well as his good friends, Cletus and Gloria Kurowski.

He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; two brothers, Mervin and Dale Gruel; and one sister, Vera Pitt.

A funeral service for Earl will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 29, 2015, at Zion United Methodist Church in Bonduel with the Rev. Dan Nault officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Thursday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.

Maron W. Grill

Maron “Bud” W. Grill, 96, of Clintonville, passed away early Tuesday morning, Oct. 27, 2015, at Greentree Health & Rehabilitation Center, Clintonville.

Maron “Bud” Wenniger Grill was born July 16, 1919, in Shawano County, the son of Linus “Lynn” and Florence (Wenniger) Grill. Bud grew up on the family farm of 160 acres and also worked with his father at Grill Sand & Gravel. He was united in marriage to Lois Johnson in Shawano on Jan. 14, 1943. He later worked on the railroad for Chicago Northwestern. In 1954, he started work as an insurance agent in Clintonville and was recognized in Wisconsin as a top seller.

Bud and Lois raised their children here in Clintonville, and he was loved as a great family man. The couple later expanded their business ventures into real estate, owning and operating Grill Realty here in town. Bud also served his community through service organizations, including the Clintonville Lions Club, Moose Lodge and the Masons.

Bud loved to spend time with his children. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, curling, golfing and traveling. He liked to collect timepieces, especially pocket watches. Bud and Lois also liked traveling to Florida during their later years. He was the king of one-liners, with a quick wit and a great sense of humor. He will be missed.

Survivors include his daughters, Nancy Baumgartner, Clintonville, and Jean (Alasdair Kellie) Grill, Superior, Colorado; son, Michael (Nancy) Grill, Appleton; grandchildren, Tim (Becky) Baumgartner, Bangkok, Thailand, Michael Baumgartner, Cincinnati, Ohio, Dr. Jennifer Roberts, Marshfield, and Sara (Vic) Nonzee, Grovetown, Georgia; great-grandsons, Maron Baumgartner and Tristan Nonzee; sister, Joan (Eugene) Woznicki, Appleton.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lois; a son, David; his sisters, Cleo Henkel and Elaine Johnson; and a brother, Lynn Grill.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, 2015, at the Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home & Crematory, Clintonville, with the Rev. Benjamin Hollingsead officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 12 p.m. until the time of the service. Interment will take place at Graceland Cemetery, Clintonville.

Gina E. Wagner

Gina E. Wagner, 34, of Shawano, passed away after a courageous battle with metastatic ocular melanoma.

Gina was born in Minneapolis on June 24, 1981, to Sean Mahto and Victoria Wagner. She graduated from Shawano High School in 1999. Gina had a passion for music, playing both the piano and clarinet as well as singing. Her love for music led her to Lawrence University where she earned her bachelor’s degree in music in 2003. She continued her music education at the University of Colorado at Boulder. On June 24, 2011, she was united in marriage to David Helsel in Firestone, Colorado. She returned to Shawano in 2012 with her family. In her free time she enjoyed being outdoors, hiking and camping. She loved nothing more than spending time with her family.

Gina is survived by her husband, David; their son, Owynn Helsel; her mother, Victoria Wagner, of Shawano; her father, Sean Mahto, of St. Paul, Minnesota; as well as her paternal grandfather, Ted Mahto.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 4-7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30, 2015, at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano. A celebration of Gina’s life is being planned for the summer of 2016.

Janet R. Garside

Janet Ruth Garside, 71, of Shawano, passed away on Monday, Oct. 26, 2015, in Appleton.

Janet was born on Nov. 27, 1943, in Lancaster to the late Eugene and Lenice (Stippich) Lomas. She graduated from Fennimore High School in 1961. On March 2, 1963, Janet was united in marriage to Lawrence Garside in Fennimore. They spent 52 wonderful married years together, living in Janesville for 35 of those years. The couple retired in 2000 and moved to Shawano.

Janet enjoyed bowling, traveling, fishing and watching the loons on Shawano Lake. She was also a Badgers and Packers fan. More than anything, she loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Janet is survived by her husband, Larry; their two sons, Terry Garside, of Cudahy, and Gary Garside, of Bonduel; five grandchildren, Adam, Zachary, Isaac, Alexander and Sarah Garside; and one sister, Mary Ann (Jack) Bukoski, of Byron, Illinois.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Irene Sweeney.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, 2015, at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano with the Rev. Loretta Waegli officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service.

Christopher W. Hottenstine

Christopher W. Hottenstine, 43, of Shawano, passed away quietly early Wednesday morning, Oct. 28, 2015, with his loving family by his side. He had bravely battled a brain tumor for the past four years.

Christopher was born on Dec. 1, 1971, in Appleton, a son of Wayne and Natasha (Rathsack) Hottenstine. He attended the Appleton schools, graduating from Appleton West in 1991. Following high school, he attended Fox Valley Tech and was currently working at North State Wood Gates in Shawano. On Feb. 14, 1991, he was united in marriage to Jennifer Schnetzer in Appleton. Following their marriage the couple lived in Appleton until 2002.

Since living in Shawano, Christopher had been employed as a journeyman sheet metal worker at Bassett Mechanical. He also worked at Owens Flooring and Mod Tech Industries. He had a passion for the Shawano Speedway. He worked in the pits and also raced his own car before getting sick. He liked NASCAR, was a dog lover and enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys.

Survivors include his devoted wife, Jennifer, of Shawano; two sons, Jonathon Hottenstine, of Shawano, and Michael (Kala) Hottenstine, of Fort Bragg, North Carolina; one grandchild on the way; his father, Wayne (Dawn) Hottenstine, of Shawano; his mother, Natasha Hottenstine, of Appleton; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Terry Hottenstine.

Private family services will be held at a later date. Mickelson Funeral & Cremation Service of Shawano is assisting the family with arrangements.

Curtis L. Beilfuss

Curtis L. Beilfuss, 84, of Menasha, formerly of Shawano, passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning, Oct. 27, 2015, at Oakridge Gardens Nursing Home in Menasha, where he had been a resident for the past five years.

Curtis was born on Aug. 2, 1931, in Shawano, a son of the late Elmer and Edna (Schenk) Beilfuss. He attended grade school in Cecil and later graduated from Bonduel High School. Following high school, he farmed with his Uncle Rudy in Bonduel, and later worked at a plywood factory in Gillett. On Oct. 4, 1959, he was united in marriage to the former Lucinda Kenyon in Shawano. Following their marriage the couple lived and farmed in Bonduel until moving to Shawano in 1969. Curtis then worked at Four Wheel Drive in Clintonville.

Curtis was a true handyman and worked on everything from cars to carpentry to plumbing to electrical work. He also distributed the Shoppers Guide. Curtis loved to hunt. He was a member of Community Church, Appleton.

Curtis is survived by his wife of 56 years, Lucinda, of Menasha; three daughters, Debra Ann Beilfuss, of Appleton, Donna Mae Pehlke, of Shawano, and Tammy L. DeBruin, of Menasha; four grandchildren, Joanna Zobjeck, Michael Pehlke Jr., Nicole Pehlke and DonnaJo Pehlke; one great-grandson, Isaac Boivin; his sister, Shirley Bluemke, of Shawano; his sister-in-law, Hazel Beilfuss, of Cecil; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one brother, James “Jimmy” Beilfuss, and his brother-in-law, Raymond Bluemke.

Funeral services for Curtis Beilfuss will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2015, at 10:30 a.m. at Mickelson Funeral Service of Shawano. Pastor Wade Hetrick will officiate. Interment will take place in the Woodlawn Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at Mickelson Funeral Service on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of service.

Wendell N. Askenette

Wendell N. “Sim” Askenette, Nīw Nōwaeqnaen “four winds, four directions,” 66, of Keshena, passed away on Oct. 29, 2015, at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King.

Wendell was born on Sept. 20, 1949, in Keshena, to the late Alexander and Sue (John) Askenette. He graduated from Shawano High School in 1967 and enlisted in the United States Army in 1969. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay and also attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison and Penn State University.

On Dec. 27, 1969, Wendell was united in marriage to Susan Stelson in Marshfield. During his life Wendell served as the director of House of Hope, Menominee Crime Victims Program and Menominee Tribal Housing. He was also appointed to the board of directors for the National American Indian Housing Council. He was a special education teacher at the Menominee Indian Junior/Senior High School and a counselor/house manager at Maehnowesekiyah. He served as a tribal judge for 13 years, as vice chairman for two years and secretary for a year for the Menominee Tribal Legislature. He also served as the Menominee County/Tribal veterans service officer. He was active with the Menominee veterans, the Woodland Boys and Girls Club, as well as several other local and national organizations. He received numerous national awards and was proud to have been able to speak before the United States Congress on behalf of the Menominee Nation.

Wendell is survived by his wife of 45 years, Susan Askenette; his children, Devin (Lowell Waupoose Sr.) Askenette and Jon (Sam Haj) Askenette; six grandchildren, Jasmine (Wabinishi Williams), Alexander Sr., Kristina, Naomi and Danika Wynos, and Lowell Waupoose Jr.; two great-grandchildren, Nova Skye and Alexander Jr. “Anik,” with a third great-grandchild on the way; siblings, Barbara Askenette, Orin Askenette, Donald Askenette, Patricia (Jerry) Chapman and David Askenette; a brother-in-law, Eugene Caldwell; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by a son; a grandson, Anthony; his parents; a brother, Alexander; and a sister, Linda Caldwell.

Traditional services will be held at the Neopit Community Center at 11 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 1, 2015. A wake will be held from noon Friday, Oct. 30, 2015, until the time of the service on Sunday. Military honors will be conducted by the Veterans of the Menominee Nation and a representative from the National Guard.

Lorraine A. Schommer

Lorraine A. Schommer, 92, went home to be with the Lord in Largo, Florida, on Oct. 24, 2015.

Lorraine was born on Nov. 18, 1922, in Dartmouth, Massachusetts, to the late Grace A. (Bourke) Dupré and Joseph L. Dupré. She grew up and attended school in New Bedford, Massachusetts. On June 24, 1944, she was united in marriage to F.C. “Buck” Schommer. Buck preceded her in death in 2009. Together they owned and operated Buck’s Liquor and Sporting Goods Store in Shawano for 32 years.

Lorraine was a LPN at both Shawano Hospital and Pine Manor Nursing Home, giving her life to the nursing profession for 35 years, retiring at the age of 84! She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, and in her early years was very active in Christian Mothers and other church activities. Lorraine was well known in the community and made it her ambition to do for others. She loved to entertain in her beautiful home of 59 years on the Wolf River Channel.

Lorraine loved and lived for family first, shopping, golf, a good card game, flea markets and travelling.

Lorraine is survived by her oldest son, Bradford (Deb) Schommer, of Dallas, Texas; daughters, Mary (Gary) Moll, of Largo, Florida, and Barbara (Bob) Phelps, of Islamorada, Florida; daughter-in law, Deborah Bartelt; six grandchildren, Erin (Timothy) Kohl, Erica (Tino Gallegos) Schommer, Jason Schommer, Jeret Schommer, Ella Schommer and Ruby Schommer; three stepgrandchildren, Logan (Denise) Ignatowski, Amanda (Kyle Dallman) Bartelt-Goland and Carl (Kim) Bartelt; six great-grandchildren, T.J., Evan and Anna Kohl, Sadie and Aiden Schommer, Lola Gallegos; three great-stepgrandchildren, Graham and Isabella Goland, and Jude Bartelt. She is further survived by her sisters-in-law, Georgianna (Lee) Casey and Betty Schommer, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and many wonderful friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, F.C. (Buck) Schommer; one son, Douglas J. Schommer; her parents; and one sister, Viola McGann.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2015, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Shawano with the Rev. Luke Ferris and the Rev. Mark Schommer officiating. Entombment will be in the Sacred Heart Mausoleum. Visitation will held at the church after 9 a.m. Tuesday until the time of the service.

Eva A. Schultz, 88, of Shawano, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 29, 2015, in Shawano.

Eva was born on Sept. 12, 1927, in Shawano to the late Walter and Ida (Dey) Kucksdorf. On Sept. 13, 1947, she was united in marriage to Clarence Schultz at Elias Lutheran Church in the town of Herman. Clarence preceded her in death on July 31, 1994. Together, the family owned and operated a dairy farm in the town of Herman for many years. She was an active member of Elias Lutheran Church, serving as the secretary for the Ladies Aid. In her spare time, Eva enjoyed baking, crocheting, dancing and playing cards.

Eva is survived by two children, Dennis (Nancy) Schultz, of Shawano, and Bonnie (Louis) Buch, of New London; five grandchildren, Jessi (Matt) Haines, Jamie (Ben) Bouchette, Jenny (Mike) McCollian, Emily and Andrew Schultz; six great-grandchildren, Zalia, Zinnia and Zoriah Haines, Dylan Bouchette, Maya and James McCollian; as well as one brother, Roger (Hazel) Kucksdorf, of Shawano.

Eva was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence, and her parents.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 2, 2015, at Elias Lutheran Church in the town of Herman with Lay Minister Lois Graper officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano on Sunday, Nov. 1, 2015, from 4-7 p.m. and again on Monday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.

David C. Zeeman Sr.

David Carl Zeeman Sr., 70, of Shawano, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 31, 2015.

David was born on Nov. 15, 1944, to the late Carl and Lorraine (Malliet) Zeeman in New London. David enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, serving during the Vietnam War. On June 21, 1969, he was united in marriage to Merry Conklin at Zion Lutheran Church in Shawano. He was an avid gardener, enjoyed black powder rifle hunting, cooking and crocheting.

David was an amazing father and grandfather and will be missed by all who knew him.

David is survived by his significant other, Sharon Stein; three children, Rachelle (Daniel) Lindsley, of De Pere, Dottie Zeeman, of Green Bay, and John Zeeman, of Manawa; 11 grandchildren, Kimberly (Joel) Lane, Robert Gleason Jr., Gabrielle Gleason, Krystine Gleason, Damion Gleason, Amanda Gleason, Aprill Gleason, Ashley Gleason, Bradley Zeeman, Jocelyn Zeeman and Katelyn Zeeman; and 10 great-grandchildren.

He is further survived by his brother and sisters, Beverly Sims, of Altoona, LeAnna Zeeman, of Shawano, Carolyn VanWestenburg, of Tigerton, Randy Zeeman, of Oshkosh, and Cindy (Don) Wood, of Colorado, as well as his former wife, Merry.

He was preceded in death by one son, David Zeeman Jr., and his parents.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, 2015, at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano with Lay Minister Lois Graper officiating. Military rites will be conducted by Shawano VFW Post 2723. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday, Nov. 6, 2015, from 4-8 p.m. and again on Saturday from noon until the time of the service.
