Keith A. Raasch, 71, of Gresham, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at Aspirus Hospital in Wausau on Thursday, Dec. 18, 2014.
Keith was born on Sept. 27, 1943, in Shawano, son of the late Walter and Margaret (Davids) Raasch. On Oct. 16, 1965, he was united in marriage to Mary Bauman in Gresham. Keith lived in the Gresham area all his life and was a truck driver for Schneider Transport of Green Bay, retiring after 30 years of service in 1999. After retirement, he worked for Shawano County for 7 1/2 years. Keith served in the United States Navy, was a member of the Mohican Veterans and the Gresham American Legion Post 390. He enjoyed fishing, flying his own plane and especially taking walks with his black lab, Maggie Mae.
Keith is survived by his wife of 49 years, Mary; three children, Lori (Scott) Wendorff, of Gresham, Keith “Skeeter” (fiancee, Nicole) Raasch, of Two Rivers, and Teri “Missy” (Rod) Martin, of Gresham; five grandchildren, Michael, Danni, Autumn, Christopher and Kaci. Keith is further survived by one brother, David (Carole) Raasch, of Green Bay, Lillian (Pat) Bailey, of Bowler, Karolyn Raasch, of Shawano, and many relatives and friends.
Keith was preceded in death by one daughter, Lisa Ann, his parents, and one brother, Buddy. A funeral service will be held at 6 p.m. Monday, Dec. 22, 2014, at the Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano with the Rev. Roland Golz officiating. Friends may call from 3-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Dad always said, “When I die, I am going to return as an eagle … so I can fly and fish all day.”
