Carole M. Alft

Carole M. Alft, 75, of rural Tigerton, passed away on Thursday morning, Dec. 18, 2014, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Eau Claire, after a lingering illness.

The former Carole Mae Brady was born on April 16, 1939, at Birnamwood Hospital, the daughter of Melvin and Margaret (Nero) Brady. She was united in marriage on June 7, 1958, to Keith R. Alft at St. John Lutheran Church, Tigerton. Carole helped her husband on the farm for many years and later was employed at North Star Casino, and she worked for some time at Premier Community Bank. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Wittenberg.

Carole enjoyed dancing, listening to polka music and working in her vegetable garden. Her other interests included taking care of her flower gardens, watching the birds, relaxing out in her gazebo, and completing all sorts of craft projects. Carole did a lot of canning, baking and cooking for her family. She will be remembered most as a devoted wife, a loving mother and a proud grandmother.

Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Keith, and four children, Keith (Debra) Alft Jr., of Tigerton, Kevin (Suzanne) Alft, of Katy, Texas, Kenneth (Lisa) Alft, of Eagle River, and Colleen (Kevin) Paiser, of Kewaunee. There is one daughter-in-law, Judi Alft, of Pella, Iowa. There are eight grandchildren, Kyle Alft, of Tigerton, Heather (Tad) Velte, of Marion, Mike (Miranda) Alft, of Des Moines, Iowa, Tiffany (Gavin) Crandall, of Pella, Iowa, Crystal (fiance, Adam Walter) Alft, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Jake (Emily) Paiser, of Sturgeon Bay, Adam (Allyssa) Alft, of Neenah, and Abby Alft, of Eagle River. There are two great-grandchildren, Lara Paiser and Grant Crandall, and another great-grandchild on the way. There are three brothers, Jerry (Connie) Brady, of Green Bay, Wayne (Debbie) Brady, of Tilleda, and Dave (Faith) Gagnon, of Marion; one sister, Diane Herring, of Grant, Florida; two sisters-in-law, Ginger Brady and Barbara Brady; a brother-in-law, Jerome Alft; a special cousin, Diane Koepke; and many other relatives and friends.

Carole was preceded in death by her parents; an infant daughter, Cheryl Lynn; and two brothers, Don and Buck Brady.

Funeral Service will be held on Monday, Dec. 22, at 11 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 701 S. Home St., Wittenberg. The Rev. Michael Larson will officiate, and burial will be at Union Cemetery, Tigerton. Friends may call on Sunday from 4-8 p.m. at the Beil-Didier Funeral Home, Tigerton, and on Monday from 9 a.m. until time of service at the church.
