Gertrude “Trudy” E. Solberg, 93, of Shawano, passed away Sunday evening, June 21, 2015, at the Birch Hill Care Center in Shawano.
Trudy was born on Nov. 13, 1921, to the late Paul and Viola (Dalke) Gutt in the Township of Almon, Shawano County. She was united in marriage to John Solberg on July 3, 1954, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Bowler. Throughout her life, Trudy was employed at various locations in Milwaukee, Shawano, Clintonville, Woodruff, Land O’ Lakes and Nokomis, Florida. She was a member of St. James Lutheran Church in Shawano, where she served on the financial committee and the Tabitha Society for many years. John preceded his wife in death on Sept. 15, 1997. Trudy was also an avid ceramist and enjoyed working at many crafts.
Survivors include her daughter, Pamela (Marc) Malueg, Clintonville; two granddaughters: Brenda (Jeff) Newton and Mindy (Joe) Roerig; four great-grandchildren, Benjamin and Jenna Newton and Madison and Zoey Roerig; two brothers, Victor Gutt and Donald (Louise) Gutt; a daughter-in-law, Sandy (Harry) Hamilton; also nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Trudy was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; son, Duane Buss; sisters-in-law, Lorraine Gutt, Germaine Rulseh and Myrna Weiland; and brothers-in-law, Carl Rulseh and Giles Weiland.
Trudy’s memorial service will be held Thursday, June 25, 2015, at 2:30 p.m. at the Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home & Crematory in Clintonville with the Rev. Ted Andrada officiating. Inurnment will be at Graceland Cemetery in Clintonville.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 1:30 p.m. until the time of the service.
