
Elmo C. Wolf, 88, was welcomed home by his heavenly Father on Sunday, Sept. 21, 2014.
Elmo was born on Feb. 25, 1926, to Louis and Margaret (Lemke) Wolf in the town of Washington, Shawano County. He graduated from Bonduel High School. In his earlier years he enjoyed working on the family farm. On May 31, 1958, he married the former Lucille Braun at St. James Lutheran Church in Shawano, with Pastor LP Buelow officiating. The Wolfs made their home in Shawano for the past 56 years. He was employed for many years at the Shawano Equity Co- op, retiring in 1991.
Elmo was known for his kind and gentle nature, and his greatest love was spending time with his family. He was a devout Christian and stood firm in his convictions. He lived his faith, and his life was an example to his family. He was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church of White Clay Lake. Elmo enjoyed celebrating his German heritage, genealogy and reading.
He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by his beloved wife of 56 years, Lucille; his children, Linda (Russ Schroeder) Clark, Oneida, Alan (Robin) Wolf, Shawano, Joan (Brian) Biertzer, Shawano; grandchildren, Ryan Clark, Shawano, Dana (Ben) Ritchie, Pella, Emma (Josh Haut) Clark, Gresham, Sean Wolf, U.S. Army, Georgia, April (Jake) Wolfe, Shawano, Erica (Jeremy) Schaewe, Shawano, Adam (Stephanie) Mikle, Gillett, Josh (Nikki) Biertzer, Eric Biertzer and Aleah Biertzer, all of Shawano; great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Austin, Jakob, Payton, Bailey, Brayden, Brooke, Brixon, Aubree, Bentley and Ryder; sister-in-law, Elaine (Earl) Thompson, Shawano; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by two daughters and a son in infancy; a sister and brother-in-law, Lucille and Harold Yaeger; in-laws, Lawrence (Ruth) Braun, Viola (Marvin) Anker, Laura (Clifton) Anker, Marcella (Marlin) Reetz, Caroline (Harvey) Rohde, Bernice (Ed) Pahlow.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Sept. 25, 2014, at 11 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church, White Clay Lake, with Pastor Steven N. Pockat officiating. Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery of Shawano. Friends may call after 9 a.m. Thursday at the church until the time of services.
The family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to Pastor Roy Rinehard and Pastor Steven Pockat for going above and beyond the call of their ministry to provide loving pastoral care for Elmo and his family during his illness. The family would also like to extend a special thank you to Heartland Hospice for the care shown to Elmo and his family over the past month.
