Charles Dean Huehnerfuss

Charles Dean Huehnerfuss, 79, of Shawano, left this world to join our beloved family in Heaven on Tuesday, May 27, 2014, in Green Bay.

Charles was born Oct. 16, 1934, in Wausau to the loving parents Emil and Goldie Huehnerfuss. Charles attended school in Birnamwood and Wausau. Following school, he entered the U.S. Army, serving from 1955-57 in Texas. He then attended the Milwaukee School of Engineering. After that, he started working for Xerox Corp as a copier repair man for 34 years. Retiring from Xerox, he kept busy fixing jewelry, doing flea markets, spending time in Florida with his friend Joanie, spending quality time with his family and working in his yard. On March 1, 1958, he was united in marriage to Helen Erickson in Milwaukee. They then moved to Green Bay for 14 years until relocating to Shawano, where Charles spent the rest of his golden years. He was a member of St. James Lutheran Church and was a huge fan of the Green Bay Packers.

Charles is survived by his son, Jeff (Sandy), of Lakewood; two daughters, Carla Burr and Coleen (Tracy) Ray, of all Shawano; grandkids, MJ (Michele) Burr, Brea (Eric) Murch, Lexi Dobberstein, Brynlee Ray, Todd Boardman; great-grandkids, Morgan Huehnerfuss, Nick Boardman, Aidan and Adison Burr, Mayla Murch; and his beloved Corgi, Mika.

Charles was preceded in death by his wife, Helen; his parents; sisters, Marion and Delores; granddaughter, Shawn Boardman; and son-in-law, Mark Burr.

Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Friday, May 30, 2014, at the Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano with the Rev. Melinda Shriner officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home in Shawano on Friday from 1 p.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in the Restlawn Cemetery in Wausau on Monday.

Dad: We are going to miss you every moment of every day. You gave us so much love that your heart was getting so tired after this sixth surgery to repair it. We will see you again in Heaven someday, please greet us with open arms.
