Terry Sousek, formerly of Gresham, died on April 7, 2014, at home in New York City with his loving wife, Ann, at his side. Terry was born on July 10, 1950, the fourth child of Margaret and Victor Sousek.

From little on, Terry was an avid musician, teaching himself to play the guitar, and there was nothing Terry enjoyed more than jamming with other musicians. It became his lifelong hobby, giving him, and others, a great deal of pleasure. As teenagers, he and his brother, Scott, formed their own band, The Distortions. Later, they formed Loose Ends and played throughout the state of Wisconsin, though they were best known in the Gresham and Shawano areas.

In later years, Terry also played occasionally with his brother Scott’s band in Minneapolis and continued his love of the guitar, writing several songs, which Loose Ends, and other bands, performed.

After graduating from Gresham High School, Terry went on to the University of Wisconsin for his bachelor’s degree and also graduated from the University of Wisconsin Law School. He and his wife moved to New York City, where Terry opened Videoscript, a video deposition company that was the first of its kind in New York City and that he operated until recently.

In his free time, Terry, along with his brothers, was an avid fan of the Packers and the Brewers, and he spent many hours on the phone discussing the success of those teams with his brothers.

Terry is survived by his wife, Ann; his sister, Judy Koslowske (Tom), of Orchard Park, N.Y.; his brothers, Samuel (Diette), of Gresham, and Scott (Cindy), of Lakeville, Minn.; 14 nieces and nephews; and many dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Margaret and Victor Sousek, his brother, Leland, and his grandparents.

The family thanks everyone for their loving support throughout this difficult time. We will all miss Terry.
