Verna L. Brocker was born Sept. 21, 1924, in the town of Hobart, Brown County, a daughter of the late Charles and Ella (Schumacher) Brocker.
On Feb. 14, 1942, she was united in marriage to Wilbur Bunkelman at Oneida. Following their marriage the couple moved to Seymour. Verna was employed at the dry cleaners in Seymour for many years. Verna is a member of Divine Savior Lutheran Church in Shawano. She was an avid fan of country music, she loved to travel, play Bingo and occasionally venture to the casino. She was famous for her homemade baked beans and truly loved to venture out in the autumn for color tours. She loved Halloween campfires in the woods and camping up north. Her favorite pastime was attending family gatherings, and she truly enjoyed being around people. Left to cherish her memory are her three daughters, Patricia (Augie) Peotter, of Appleton, Janice Sawall, of New London, and Julie (Steve) Dyer, of St. Mary’s, Ga.
