Frederick J. “Jack” Hohn, 82, Birnamwood, died Saturday, July 18, 2015, at UW Hospital, Madison.
He was born on Dec. 8, 1932, in Red River, the son of the late Ernest and Mildred (Thorne) Hohn.
On Jan. 2, 1954, Frederick was united in marriage to Suzanne Westfahl in the town of Grant. She survives.
Frederick worked as a food inspector for the U.S. Department of Agriculture for over 50 years. He enjoyed going on fishing trips with Grandpa Ron and working on the family farm, but he especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Sue Hohn, Birnamwood; two sons, Warren (Margo) Hohn, Merrill, and Steven Hohn, Wittenberg; five grandchildren, Madonna, Derek, Kenny, Danielle and Kasey; seven great-grandchildren, Emerson, Mariah, Ivy, Isaac, April, Jesse and Aubrey; one sister, Yvonne (Orville) Pingel, town of Easton; and one brother-in-law, Kenneth Westfahl, Green Bay. He is also survived by other relatives and special neighbors Jim Beyersdorf and Carl Radtke.
In addition to his parents, Frederick was preceded in death by two daughters-in-law, Debra and Carlene Hohn.
A time of sharing will be held at noon Sunday, July 26, 2015, at Schmidt & Schulta Funeral Home, Birnamwood. Military rites will be conducted by Darling-Gunderson American Legion Post 341. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until the time of the service on Sunday at the funeral home.
