Ruth E. Braun

Ruth Emily Braun, 94, formerly of Clintonville, passed away on April 10, 2015, at Birch Hill Care Center in Shawano.

Ruth was born on Jan. 28, 1921, in Oshkosh, daughter of the late Emil and Adelia (Golz) Gauger. She attended the Jefferson School in Oshkosh. She then left school to care for an aunt who was ill. She then worked at the Neuberger Company in Oshkosh for 11 years. On April 18, 1953, she was united in marriage to Norman Braun at Peace Lutheran Church in Oshkosh. Following their marriage, the couple moved to the farm near Clintonville.

Ruth was a faithful member of St. Martin Lutheran Church in Clintonville. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, playing cards and reading the books the library friends brought to her from the Clintonville Public Library.

There were no children, and she is survived by sister-in-laws Betty Krueger, Clintonville, and Maxine (Henry) Berner, Shawano; cousin Jim Golz, Wausau; niece Mindy Braun, Holmen; nephews Mark Braun, Shawano, David (Kathy) Braun, Seattle, Daniel (Kathy) Braun, Shawano, Stephen (Kate) Krueger, Clintonville, David (Lorri) Krueger, Marion, Michael (Mary Jo) Krueger, Clintonville, and Robert (Donna) Krueger, Clintonville.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, a sister at birth, and her husband, Norman Braun.

Funeral services were held at 11:30 a.m. Monday, April 13, 2015, at St. Martin Lutheran Church, Clintonville, with the Rev. Christian Burg officiating. Friends called at the church on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment took place at St. Martin Cemetery, town of Larrabee.

Memorials are preferred to St. Martin Lutheran School, Clintonville.

The Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home & Crematory of Clintonville is assisting the family.
