Doris Lorraine Hanke, 89, Wittenberg, died Wednesday, March 18, 2015, at the Homme Home of Wittenberg under the care of Asera Care Hospice. She was born Sept. 18, 1925, in Wittenberg, the daughter of the late Guy and Emelia (Dahl) Jensen.
On October 30, 1943, she was united in marriage to Donald R. “Pete” Hanke in Wittenberg. He preceded her in death on Feb. 3, 2007.
Lorraine worked as a clerk at Hanke’s grocery store for many years. She enjoyed spending winters in Arizona and going camping on Post Lake in the summers. Lorraine also enjoyed fishing, going swimming with her friends, playing shuffleboard, bowling and shooting pool, but she especially loved the time spent with family and friends.
Survivors include four children, Donna Zeinert, Wittenberg, Doris (Ron) Matz, Wittenberg, Diane (Paul) Wopp, Wittenberg, and David (Marlus) Hanke, Schofield; eight grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Jane Wendler, Wittenberg; and brother-in-law, Robert (Elaine) Hanke, Neenah.
In addition to her parents and husband, Lorraine was preceded in death by one son, Daryl Hanke; one sister, Mildred (Walter) Hegewald; and one brother, Allen (Irene) Jensen.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 21, 2015, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Wittenberg. The Rev. Michael Larson will officiate. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
