Linda Joyce Porter, 67, of Green Bay, passed away on Thursday, March 12, 2015, in Shawano.
Linda was born in Des Moines, Iowa, on March 21, 1947, to George and Joyce (Bird) Koons. She enjoyed the theater, reading, bicycling and loved music. Linda had an adventurous spirit and loved to try new and exciting things. She loved animals and was saddened by the death of her beloved pets, Luke, her black Lab, and Sofie, her cat.
Linda is survived by her parents, George and Joyce Koons, of Shawano, and her sister, Sheila Koons, of Wausaukee.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 17, 2015, at the Church on the Hill in Shawano with the Rev. Allen Christensen officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the services. Inurnment will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to the American Cancer Society.
Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano is assisting the family with the arrangements.
