
Marvin J. Leonard Sr., 82, formerly of Wittenberg, died Monday, March 2, 2015, at Pine Manor Health Care, Embarrass. He was born on March 1, 1933, in Milwaukee, the son of the late Nicodemus and Marion (Manowski) Leonard.
Marvin was united in marriage to Linda Hansen in 1982. She survives.
Marvin worked as an automobile dealer and mechanic. He also was the home school coordinator at Potch-Chee-Nunk for a number of years. Marvin enjoyed hunting, fishing, stock-car races, singing and telling stories. He also enjoyed traveling across the country to go to car auctions and going to the casino.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Leonard, Elderon; nine children, Faith (Ben) Morris, Chilton, Nicodemus Leonard, Wabeno, Anna Leonard, White Lake, Marvin Leonard Jr., Lake Dalton, Fredrich Leonard, Antigo, Thomas (Tina) Leonard, Wabeno, Rose (Evan) Logan, Wisconsin Dells, Joseph (Sara) Leonard, Elderon, and Patricia Leonard, Bowler; 26 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; one brother, Randall Leonard, West Bend; foster son, Lyle Garton, Wittenberg; and a special buddy, Leonard “Lenny” Cheyka. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, Marvin was preceded in death by his first wife, Maryann Leonard; one son, Gerald Leonard; and three grandchildren, Monica Leonard, Kenneth Reed and Nicole V. Leonard-Houghton.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 5, 2015, at the Potch-Chee-Nunk Community Center, Wittenberg. Lorenzo Funmaker will officiate. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 11 a.m. until the time of services at the Community Center.
