
Reginald G. “Reggie” Maltbey, 78, of Appleton, died Sunday, Jan. 5, 2014, at his home. He was born in Shawano on Jan. 11, 1935, to the late George and Marryella (Rosenow) Maltbey.
Reginald served in the Army from 1954-1957. He married Janet Frank on July 7, 1958, in Menominee, Mich. Prior to his retirement, Reggie worked at Appleton Coated Paper for 12 years and Miller Electric for 27 years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and the time he spent with his family in Shawano.
Reggie is survived by his wife of 55 years, Janet; children, Susan Hirnschall, Oshkosh, David (Cindy), Clintonville, Jeffrey, Neenah, Gregory, Appleton, and Gary (Kim), Appleton; stepdaughter, Ginger Bluemke; grandchildren, Jessica (Andrew) Sickle, Melissa (Matthew) Meyer, Sarah, Andrew, Shannon, Nicholas, Megan and Jacob Maltbey, Bradley and Heather Blumke; siblings, Doris (Ted) Otto, Deloris (Donald) Fischer, Donna Heling and Lyle Maltbey; and sister and brother-in-law, Carol Rayson and Kenneth (Lois) Frank. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, Reggie was preceded in death by his daughter, Diana; Janet’s parents, Isabelle (nee Culver) Frank and Warren (Linda) Frank; and brother, Mike Maltbey.
Visitation will be held Friday, Jan. 10, 2014, at O’Connell Funeral Home, 1776 E. Main St., Little Chute, from 9 a.m. until time of funeral at 11 a.m. The Rev. Dick Schaefer will officiate. Military rites conducted by the William Verhagen American Legion Post 60 will immediately follow.
