Myrtle M. Feivor, 85, of Shawano, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 18, 2014, at The Cottages, where she had been a resident for three years.
Myrtle was born on the family farm near Hill Point, Sauk County, on Dec. 13, 1929, the youngest child of the late Edward and Augusta (Schultz) Meyer. Myrtle graduated from Reedsburg High School in 1947. She met the love of her life, Frank Feivor, at a wedding dance in Loganville. The couple was married on June 1, 1949, and spent their honeymoon in San Francisco, one of Myrtle’s favorite cities.
Following their marriage, they lived in Reesdburg until 1954. At that time, Frank was promoted to district manager for American Family Insurance and they moved to Shawano. Frank preceded Myrtle in death on July 25, 2010. Myrtle was a gifted artist. She attended Layton School of Art in Milwaukee. Her seven children are blessed to have pictures their mom painted. Myrtle’s favorite subjects to paint were wildlife, such as birds and rabbits. She even wrote a children’s book about a squirrel. Myrtle loved nature!
Myrtle was an angel of a mother to her seven children: Renee Early, of Menasha, Kim (Barbara) Feivor, of Roanoke, Virginia, David (Julie) Feivor, of Gillett, Mark (Kitty) Feivor, of Appleton, Julie (Colin) Duff, of Lake Zurich, Illinois, Doug (Michele) Feivor, of Green Bay, and Nancy (James) Seckar, of Oshkosh. She was also the proud and loving grandmother of 20 grandchildren: Melissa, Michael (Jennifer) and Andrew Early, Daniel and Preston Feivor, Anthony (Nichole), Brianna (Leo) and Chase (Andrea) Feivor, Cory (Marco) and Amy Feivor, Jamieson, Flora and Callum Duff, Emily, Rachel, Conrad and Spencer Feivor, Lauren (Joe) Mason and Logan Seckar; and two great-grandsons, Sean Fitzpatrick and Henry Feivor. She is also survived by one sister-in-law, Mae Vogel.
Myrtle was preceded in death by her husband, Frank, and one son-in-law, James Early.
Private family funeral services for Myrtle Feivor will take place on Monday, Dec. 22, 2014, at St. James Lutheran Church, Shawano. Pastor Ted Andrada will officiate. Burial will take place in the Woodlawn Cemetery, Shawano.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Myrtle’s name.
Matthew 6:26: Look at the birds in the sky. They do not store food for winter. They don’t plant gardens. They do not sow or reap-and yet, they are always fed because your heavenly Father feeds them. And you are even more precious to Him than a beautiful bird. If He looks after them, of course He will look after you.
Mickelson Funeral & Cremation Service of Shawano is assisting the family with arrangements.
