
Melvin Richard “Joe” Klosterman, 70, of Bonduel, died Friday, Nov. 21, 2014, in Shawano. Born on June 20, 1941, in Shawano, Joe is the son of the late Alfred E. and Annabel (Searles) Klosterman. Joe resided in the Bonduel area most of his life, attending Bonduel schools and graduating from Bonduel High School in 1962. He was united in marriage to Ardis Hoefs on May 9, 1964, in St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bonduel, where he continued to worship throughout his life. He went into the construction industry, retiring from Miron Construction after 34 years. Joe thoroughly enjoyed his wood-working shop in the lower level of his home, where he built many fine pieces of furniture for the church, school, family and friends. Using his construction background, he served on the building committee for the St. Paul Lutheran Church and School project in 2006-2007. Joe was on the board of directors for the Broncos Baseball Team and enjoyed watching sporting events on television, especially NASCAR.
Joe is survived by his loving wife, Ardis; his daughter, Patti (Steven) Moede, of Bonduel; his son, Pete (Jodi) Klosterman of New London; grandchildren, Jeremy Moede, Terra (special friend, Justin Naumann) Moede, Klarissa, Garrett and Serena Klosterman; and his siblings, Judy Dobratz, Janet (Rodney) Busch, Alice Hanson and Jon Klosterman.
Joe is preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2014 at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bonduel. Swedberg-Wendt Funeral Home is assisted the family with arrangements.
