Agnes A. Schwerke

Agnes A. Schwerke, 75, of Shawano, passed away Monday, Dec. 30, 2013, at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born on Oct. 11, 1938, in Wiesbaden, Germany, she was the daughter of the late Johann and Frieda Busch.

In 1957 she was married to Jerome Fischer, and together the couple had five children. Agnes was a very outgoing, fun person who enjoyed the company of young people. She also enjoyed traveling and visiting area casinos. Agnes was a member of the Peace United Church of Christ in Shawano and a 23-year member of the Shawano Lake Lionesses. On Dec. 29, 1990, she was united in marriage to Percy Schwerke in Shawano.

Agnes is survived by her husband, Percy; four children, Debbie (Richard) Skalitzky, of Shawano, John Fischer, of Shawano, Shirley (Jim Lardinois) Pecore, of Shawano, and Tom (Sharon) Fischer, of Little Suamico; a stepdaughter, Kathy Fischer, of Neenah; two stepsons, Mark (Jane) Schwerke and Michael (Sue) Schwerke, of Shawano; a daughter-in-law, Roxanne Fischer; a stepson-in-law, Travis Polman, of Wausau; eight grandchildren, Michael Grueb, Melissa Goldsberry, Ben Fischer, John Fischer, Jessica Fischer, Jason Pecore, Dustin Fischer and Chris Fischer; six stepgrandchildren, Andy, Tim, Ben, Brandon and Catlyn Schwerke, and Jordan Polman; numerous great-grandchildren; and stepbrother and sister, Hans and Jeanette.

Agnes was preceded in death by her son, Tod Fischer; stepdaughter, Jenny Polman; son-in-law, Gerald Pecore; stepgranddaughter, Erin Polman; great-grandson, Cielo Pecore; her parents; and former husband, Jerome Fischer.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 4, 2013, at Peace United Church of Christ in Shawano with the Rev. Marty Black officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service.

Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano is assisting the family with the arrangements.
