Ervin Francis Mackowiak, 78, lifelong resident of the town of Belle Plaine, passed away on Nov. 12, 2015. Born on Oct. 4, 1937, he was the son of John and Wilhelmina (Dillenburg) Mackowiak.
Ervin farmed the family farm for 52 years. In his earlier years, he enjoyed dancing and listening to polka music with his wife of 47 years. He also enjoyed watching his grandsons play baseball and other sports.
In his spare time, he liked using the chain saw to make wood. You could always find him reading magazines on antique tractors and reading stories about bears in the wild.
Ervin is survived by his wife, Rose, and two daughters, Marcia Rose (Steve) Riemer, Clintonville, and Bobbi Jo (Ray) Schmidt, Clintonville. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Jake Riemer, Baraboo, Zac and Cory Riemer, Clintonville.
Besides his parents, Ervin was preceded in death by his sister, Helen; brother-in-law, Ray Petit; three brothers, John and sister-in-law, Helen (Peeters), James and sister-in-law Dorothy (Peeters) and Peter, who died in infancy.
He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be deeply missed by his family.
